After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Spotsylvania brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Courtland Cougars on Monday. Considering the Knights have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Spotsylvania's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Courtland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Spotsylvania is set to face off against their familiar foe King George at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.5, the Foxes 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Courtland will square off against rival James Monroe at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
