Softball Recap: Roxana Takes a Loss

Roxana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Freeburg Midgets, falling 18-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Midgets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-7 on Tuesday.

Roxana's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Freeburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Roxana will square off against Salem at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Shells surely won't give up without a fight. As for Freeburg, they will head out to challenge Mater Dei at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Midgets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
