Basketball Recap: Dyett Sets Scoring Season-High Against Kelly

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dyett). They claimed a resounding 51-14 win over the Kelly Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Dyett's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keyanna Sanderson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine steals. Sanderson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Laniyah Mondie, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Dyett's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.0 points per game. As for Kelly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Dyett Eagles take on the Prosser Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kelly, they will challenge Crane Medical at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
