Baseball Game Preview: Apex Friendship Patriots vs. Middle Creek Mustangs

Apex Friendship is 2-8 against Middle Creek since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Apex Friendship Patriots will welcome the Middle Creek Mustangs at 4:00 p.m.

Apex Friendship is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to Hamden Hall Country Day. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since April 10, 2024.

Apex Friendship got a good showing from Vance Pease, who tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.

Meanwhile, Middle Creek waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-2 win. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Middle Creek got a massive performance out of Will Tobin, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Sladek, who scored four runs and stole Four bases.

Middle Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Apex Friendship's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Middle Creek, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
