Basketball Game Preview: Virgin Valley Bulldogs vs. Fernley Vaqueros

The Virgin Valley Bulldogs will take on the Fernley Vaqueros in a holiday battle at at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Virgin Valley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Virgin Valley was beaten by Democracy Prep Agassi Campus 83-55. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Blue Knights are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Fernley hadn't done well against Boulder City recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Fernley managed a 48-43 victory over Boulder City.

Virgin Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fernley, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Virgin Valley won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, slipping by Fernley 55-54. Does Virgin Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fernley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
