Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Jesuit Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cristo Rey Jesuit, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They came out on top in a nail-biter against The Gunston School Herons on Friday, sneaking past 40-38.

Despite the defeat, The Gunston School saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kate Zotttarelli dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emma Walker, who posted nine points and six steals.

The win got Cristo Rey Jesuit back to even at 1-1. As for The Gunston School, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey Jesuit will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against SEED at 4:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for The Gunston School, they will face off against Salisbury Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
