Softball Recap: Eagle Pass Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Eagle Pass entered their tilt with United on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Eagle Pass got a great performance from Sofia Torres as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Torres a new career-high.

At the plate, Krysta Ruiz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michelle Torralba, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Eagle Pass kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Eagle Pass' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for United, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19-1 record this season.
