Eaton had won 12 straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped up to 17-1 to make it 13. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Resurrection Christian Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Reds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Madi Smith paced Eaton's offense, picking up 19 kills. Smith got some help from Trinity Salberg and her 23 assists. Harley Forster controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for Resurrection Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-1. The loss was their first of the season.

Loss or not, Resurrection Christian got some senior leadership from Blake Coors and Amanda Pardue. Coors had 16 digs and three assists, while Pardue had eight digs and three aces. Coors is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Eaton and Resurrection Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Reds will challenge Brush at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (11 vs. 154). Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian (ranked 16th) will meet Windsor Charter Academy (ranked 94th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
