Baseball Recap: Whitney Takes a Loss

Whitney blew Santa Ana Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Santa Ana Valley got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 8-6. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it eight in a row.

Whitney saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kavi Stris, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Stris is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-10 when he doesn't). Nate Arellano was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Santa Ana Valley, they moved to 4-15 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Whitney will welcome Pioneer at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Ana Valley, they will head out to square off against Saddleback at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
