            Baseball Preview: Wilmot Panthers vs. Union Grove Broncos        
        
		
        
        
            Wilmot is 0-10 against Union Grove since April of 2019 but things could change  on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to  face off against  the Broncos  at 4:30  p.m. Wilmot is coming into the  match hot, having won their last four games.
Wilmot is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. They walked away with  an   11-8  win over Beloit Memorial  on Saturday.
 Nolan Sanew looked comfortable as he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than one  hit in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Preston Jones was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Ryan Watson, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Union Grove fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Milton  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of  8-7.
  Matthew Gruber made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Those  RBI were  his first of the season.  Cooper Dye was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  RBI.
 Wilmot's record is now 5-3. As for Union Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
 Wilmot couldn't quite get it done against Union Grove in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 as they fell  5-0. Can the Panthers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
