Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Senators vs. Quincy Blue Devils

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Quincy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Both will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Springfield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Springfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Normal University, but they still walked away with a 48-42 win.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Quincy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Alleman 90-34. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Quincy, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Springfield ended up a good deal behind Quincy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 76-57. Can Springfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
