Basketball Recap: Paramount Takes a Loss

If Paramount was feeling good fresh off their 77-28 takedown of Centennial last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Paramount Pirates were dealt a 79-50 loss at the hands of the Savanna Rebels on Tuesday. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-23.

Savanna was led to victory by Branden Ellis and Paul Henderson. Ellis went 6 of 14 en route to 22 points and four steals, while Henderson went 7 of 11 on his way to 19 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Henderson a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Joachim Bikoula, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Paramount has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Savanna, their record is now 7-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Valley Christian the next time they take the court. Paramount will head out to face Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Savanna will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
