A win for Guilford just wasn't in the cards on Thursday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were dealt a 48-13 defeat at the hands of the Killingly Redmen. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Guilford lost, don't look at Caden Hillier. Despite the final result, he rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Hillier's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

Killingly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Allard, who rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns. Allard is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Killingly, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Guilford will face off against West Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Killingly, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fitch at 6:30 p.m. on October 25th.
