Softball Recap: Ogemaw Heights Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ogemaw Heights lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Bullock Creek, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Falcons blew past the Lancers 13-4 on Tuesday. 13 seems to be a good number for the Falcons as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kylee England spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Aubrey Evans was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Illig, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Ogemaw Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Ogemaw Heights' third in a row) raised their record to 5-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Bullock Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Coming up, Ogemaw Heights will square off against Mio-Au Sable at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons are facing the Thunderbolts at the right time seeing as the Thunderbolts are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bullock Creek, they will welcome Merrill at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
