Softball Recap: Southeast Lauderdale Comes Up Short

Southeast Lauderdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-2 to the Newton County Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 back in February.

Southeast Lauderdale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Grace Hall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Southeast Lauderdale's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Newton County, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-9 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Lauderdale will host Quitman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Newton County, they will welcome Enterprise at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
