Baseball Recap: Woodlawn Comes Up Short

Woodlawn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wenonah Dragons. The Colonels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 8-6.

Deitric Young was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Santerious Mccord was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Woodlawn's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Wenonah, they moved to 6-12 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Woodlawn and Wenonah will both be playing Parker the next time they take the field. The Colonels will host the Thundering Herd at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Dragons will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
