Softball Recap: Potts Camp Extends Winning Streak to Six

Potts Camp waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Falkner Eagles. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by exactly three runs.

Alyssa Clifton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Myleigh Melton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Haley Ackerman was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Potts Camp's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Falkner, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19.

Potts Camp will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
