Softball Game Preview: Campbell Sabers vs. Grand Terrace Titans

The Campbell Sabers will be taking part in a tournament against the Grand Terrace Titans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Campbell put up the most points they have all season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Nanakuli with a sharp 21-10 win. The Sabers haven't had any issues with the Golden Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Kayla Whaley was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Taileen Asoau was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Campbell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nanakuli only posted an OBP of .423.

Meanwhile, Grand Terrace waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Pilots by a score of 15-10.

Campbell's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Grand Terrace, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
