Volleyball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Juggernauts when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Lloyd Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Newport will take on Nicholas County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lloyd Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
