Softball Recap: Cordova Comes Up Short

If Cordova was feeling good fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Grant on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lancers lost 12-2 to the Oakmont Vikings on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lancers of the 8-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Cordova saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Becca Lee, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Cordova has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Oakmont, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Cordova will face off against Antelope at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Oakmont, they will square off against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
