Basketball Recap: Walatowa Charter Takes a Loss

Walatowa Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost to the Monte Del Sol Charter Dragons on the road by a 52-36 margin. The Cougars lost against the Dragons in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-27 score last time.

Monte Del Sol Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devin Moore led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. What's more, Moore also racked up five blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Antonio Trujillo III was another key player, going 8 of 10 en route to 18 points and five steals.

Walatowa Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Monte Del Sol Charter, their record now sits at 4-12.

Walatowa Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monte Del Sol Charter, they will face off against Legacy Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Monte Del Sol Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
