Basketball Game Preview: Murrah Mustangs vs. Yazoo City Indians

The Murrah Mustangs will challenge the Yazoo City Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Murrah is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Murrah took a blow against Starkville, falling 67-34. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Yazoo City didn't have quite enough to beat Cleveland Central on Friday and fell 40-37. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Yazoo City's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9. As for Murrah, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Murrah strolled past Yazoo City in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 71-56. Will Murrah repeat their success, or does Yazoo City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
