Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Claiborne). Everything went their way against the Cordia Lions on Friday as they made off with a 23-4 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Sam Wilson was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Claiborne's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Emery Keiter was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Claiborne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Claiborne back to even at 8-8. As for Cordia, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Claiborne beat the Lions by a score of 10-0 later that day.
