Basketball Recap: North Central Gets the Win

North Central won the last time they faced Creighton, and Mya Lewis did her part to make sure it happened again. The North Central Knights managed a 51-45 victory over the Creighton Bulldogs on Thursday thanks in part to Lewis, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Karlene Kepler, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave her a new career-high.

The win got North Central back to even at 9-9. As for Creighton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

North Central will be taking part in a tournament against Stuart at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Creighton, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bloomfield at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th.
