Softball Recap: Weiss Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Weiss took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Georgetown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolves skirted past the Eagles 7-6. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by just one run.

Anabella Gomez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alexis Herrera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

The victory (which was Weiss' seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Georgetown, they moved to 18-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Weiss and Georgetown will both be playing Dripping Springs the next time they take the field. The Wolves will head out to face the Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
