The First Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory on Monday. The Royals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kyle Hopper looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Remo Indomenico and Roy Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Indomenico went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Rodriguez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Indomenico has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Luis Machado, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

The First Academy's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

The First Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hustlers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
