Kenmore East proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the North Tonawanda Lumberjacks 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 back in April.

Brock Israel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Adair, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Kenmore East's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for North Tonawanda, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kenmore East will challenge rival Lewiston-Porter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering the Bulldogs have lost three straight at home and the Lancers four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum. Meanwhile, North Tonawanda is set to square off against their familiar foe Niagara Falls at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
