Baseball Recap: Waukesha South Comes Up Short

Waukesha South extended their losing streak to 21 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-22 in the process. They came up short against the Arrowhead Warhawks, falling 10-0. The Blackshirts were not able to make up for their loss to the Warhawks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Arrowhead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games.

For Arrowhead's part, Peter Kussow looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Kussow has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Kirley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Niko Frongopoulos, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

As of now, neither Waukesha South nor Arrowhead have any future games scheduled.
