Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

If Parkston wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pine Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Marvin Richard Lll. The Pine Ridge Thorpes came out on top against the Parkston Trojans by a score of 55-48 on Saturday thanks in part to Richard Lll, who posted 24 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Richard Lll is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 20 every time he's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Anthony Steele, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Pine Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Parkston, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Pine Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-60 defeat against Lennox on the 30th. As for Parkston, they will venture away from home to face off against Winner at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
