Softball Game Preview: Spring-Ford Rams vs. Inspiration Academy Lions

The Spring-Ford Rams will be taking part in a tournament against the Inspiration Academy Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Spring-Ford had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marple Newtown. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Jess Fliszar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

Meanwhile, Inspiration Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against the Yellow Jackets by a score of 6-3.

The team relied heavily on Alexis McInerney, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
