Basketball Game Preview: Thrasher Rebels vs. Houlka Wildcats

The Thrasher Rebels and the Houlka Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Friday, Thrasher got the win against Potts Camp by a conclusive 56-31. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Meanwhile, Houlka waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Hawks 74-53. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Thrasher better keep an eye on Jerome Staton. He was instrumental in Houlka's win, going 9 of 16 en route to 24 points. The dominant performance gave Staton a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Donnie Orgeron, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points.

Houlka was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Thrasher has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Houlka, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
