Softball Recap: Scarborough Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Scarborough nor Cheverus made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Red Storm lost 19-2 to the Stags. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Storm of the 8-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

Scarborough saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giuiliana Giftos, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Scarborough's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cheverus, the win (which was their seventh in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Scarborough will take on rival Thornton Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cheverus is set to face off against their familiar foe Noble at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
