Volleyball Preview: South County Stallions vs. West Springfield Spartans
South County and West Springfield are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, South County finally turned things around against Fairfax on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions , sneaking past 3-2.
Meanwhile, West Springfield had already won 16 in a row and they went ahead and made it 17 on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Bruins as they made off with a 3-0 win.
West Springfield's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Lake Braddock between 18 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.
West Springfield couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 43.2% of their attack attempts. They are a perfect 3-0 when when their percentage is at least 0.4.
South County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10-2. As for West Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 20-1.
