Volleyball Recap: Menendez Comes Up Short

Menendez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Nease Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in March.

Menendez took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-11, 25-13.

Tommy Abbonizio paced Menendez's offense, picking up six kills. Abbonizio got some help from Alex Fischer and his 14 assists.

Menendez's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Nease, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Menendez will challenge Tocoi Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Toros will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. Nease does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
