Softball Recap: Hedgesville Falls Short of Spring Mills in the Playoffs

Hedgesville and Spring Mills squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Hedgesville had to settle for second. They fell 8-4 to the Cardinals. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost six in a row.

Lexie Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Maggie Boyer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hedgesville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14-1. As for Spring Mills, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Hedgesville nor Spring Mills have any future games scheduled.
