Softball Recap: Pike Road Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dale County on Tuesday, Pike Road came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Slocomb Red Tops by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Tops earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Ava Milton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ameria Anderson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Pike Road has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-20 record this season. As for Slocomb, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pike Road will face off against Charles Henderson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Slocomb, they will be taking part in a tournament against Dale County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
