Baseball Game Preview: West End Patriots vs. Oneonta Redskins

The West End Patriots will square off against the Oneonta Redskins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West End has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

West End came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 20-10 to Oneonta.

For Oneonta's part, they got a massive performance out of Caleb Glover, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Glover a new career-high. Carter Clyde was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Oneonta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was Oneonta's sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for West End, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.
