Basketball Recap: Banning Takes Down Azusa in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Banning had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Azusa Aztecs by a score of 69-62. The win was nothing new for the Broncos as they're now sitting on three straight.

Banning's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Aguilar led the charge by putting up 18 points along with seven boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Aguilar has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Junior Dunahoo, who scored 17 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Banning's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Azusa, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-10.

Banning wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-33 win against Maricopa on the 14th. Azusa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
