Recap: Leake Academy Rebels vs. Lamar Raiders
The Leake Academy Rebels can now show off 19 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Lamar on the road to the tune of 61-24. With Leake Academy ahead 30-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Leake Academy was led to victory by Ella Bell and Katye Jones. Bell scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Jones scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Allen, who scored five points along with four steals.
Leake Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
Leake Academy will take on Southeast Lauderdale at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Southeast Lauderdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Leake Academy is ranked 11th). As for Lamar, they will head out on the road to square off against Simpson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
