Softball Recap: Corning Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Corning's offense. They came up short against the Las Plumas Thunderbirds on Friday, falling 15-0. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Corning's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Las Plumas, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-3.

Coming up, Corning will face off against Live Oak at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.8 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Las Plumas, they will welcome Oroville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Thunderbirds' favor as the team sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Tigers have been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
