Baseball Recap: Valley Takes Down Intermountain Christian in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Valley walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Intermountain Christian Lions with a sharp 7-0 victory on Tuesday. The Buffalos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Valley let Jake Figgins and Weston Baird run wild. Figgins went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Baird got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Figgins has posted since back in August.

The win (which was Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 12-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Intermountain Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Valley will challenge Bryce Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Intermountain Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
