Football Game Preview: Albany Hornets vs. Independence Tigers

The Albany Hornets will square off against the Independence Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Albany is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against East Feliciana on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Hornets came up short against the Tigers, falling 47-24. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.

Meanwhile, Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 43-7 defeat at the hands of Amite. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Warriors are ranked 103rd).

Albany now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
