Soccer Recap: Springfield Southeast Takes a Loss

After soaring to five goals the game before, Springfield Southeast was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against the Springfield Senators, falling 10-1. While losing is never fun, Springfield Southeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Springfield are ranked 15th).

Springfield Southeast's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Springfield, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

Coincidentally, Springfield Southeast and Springfield will both be playing Pleasant Plains/New Berlin the next time they take the pitch. The Senators will host the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
