Valley Regional waltzed into their matchup on Monday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Everything went their way against the Portland Highlanders as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Monday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Valley Regional was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-14, 25-12.

Nia Marchese paced Valley Regional's offense, picking up six kills. Marchese got some help from Kellyn Kolber and her 21 assists. Kolber also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Hallie Moore, each putting up three.

Valley Regional's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Portland, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Valley Regional will face off against rival Cromwell at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Portland is set to take on their familiar foe North Branford at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
