5A District 4 recap Oct. 30, 2012

East Central was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 5A District 4. The Cardinals beat Tahlequah 42-0 earlier in the week.

East Central extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Tigers, 42-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for Bobby Klinck's team.

Thanks to the talents of Keegan Yates and Carson Smallwood Pryor has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Yates leads the league in passing with 943 yards, while Smallwood has rushed for 1456 yards this season. Claremore's Caleb Webster leads the league in receiving yards with 430 on 29 catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Cardinals take on the Tigers. As it stands, East Central is in third, while Pryor is in fifth.

Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,044 from 6,431. The improvement came about via a 40-7 victory over Grove last week.
