Baseball Recap: New Braunfels Christian Academy Find Success

On Friday, the New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats earned a 4-1 win over the Faith Academy Flames.

David Shoup made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Shoup was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base. Shoup is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Jack Kahlig was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Owen Wells, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

New Braunfels Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

New Braunfels Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Faith Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Bobcats at 1:00 p.m. on March 7th. New Braunfels Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Medina's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Faith Academy, they will take on Valor South Austin in a tournament on Friday.
