Basketball Recap: Wesley Chapel Gets the Win + How To Watch

Wesley Chapel saw some tournament action on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-64 victory over the Gateway Charter Griffins. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Wesley Chapel found their leader in sophomore Dominick Sabio, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Sabio is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tj Aguilar, who shot 67% from the field en route to 14 points and five assists.

Gateway Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aidan Bonilla, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points. Cooper Lasalle was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Wesley Chapel's record now sits at 2-0. As for Gateway Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Wesley Chapel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 90-81 defeat against Sickles on the 25th. As for Gateway Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-76 win against Wiregrass Ranch on the 25th.
