Basketball Recap: Brody Paddock's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cape Hatteras over Manteo + How To Watch

Cape Hatteras extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 69-47 to the Manteo Redskins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 92-56 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Cape Hatteras' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Paddock, who shot 55% from the field en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Wyatt, who posted 13 points.

As for Manteo, their record is now 1-0. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since December 13, 2024 (when they won 92-56).

Leading Manteo to victory were Nehemiah Gibbs and Zay Banks. Gibbs went 5-for-7 on his way to 10 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Banks earned 18 points and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Banks a new career-high in assists (three). Jaheem Banks was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cape Hatteras didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-41 loss against Hertford County on the 3rd. As for Manteo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-46 win against Columbia on the 4th.
