Football Recap: Summer Creek Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Summer Creek had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past the Shadow Creek Sharks with a 37-32 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Sharks are ranked 91st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Summer Creek's defensive line and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Pj Cormier and Brinley Tita, who racked up all four sacks between them.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Summer Creek, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Benny Easter Jr., who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Summer Creek will host Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shadow Creek, they will face off against Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
