Football Recap: Summer Creek Starts Season with Victory Against Shadow Creek + How To Watch

Summer Creek had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past the Shadow Creek Sharks with a 37-32 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won three in a row.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Summer Creek, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Benny Easter Jr., who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Summer Creek and Shadow Creek should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bulldogs will take on Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (24 vs. 87). Meanwhile, Shadow Creek (ranked 91st) will meet Clear Creek (ranked 441st) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
